Haudenosaunee Environmental Task Force Welcomes Assistant Director

    The Haudenosaunee Environmental Task Force welcomes David M. Arquette to the position of Assistant Director. Dave has served as a delegate of the Mohawk Nation Council of Chiefs to the HETF since 1994. For the past two years, David Arquette has served as Environmental Projects Coordinator for the Akwesasne Task Force on the Environment (ATFE). As Projects Coordinator, he developed work plans, budget and project reports, prepared environmental educational materials for youth and displays and newspaper articles for the general public.

    David was also responsible for managing a large number of environmental studies associated with the New York Power Authority’s re-licensing of the St. Lawrence - FDR hydroelectric project. He supervised a staff person, accompanied and assisted contractors on field studies, fiscally managed contracts and budgets, developed time schedules and prepared activity reports.

    Prior to working for the Akwesasne Task Force on the Environment, David worked eight years for the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Environment Division. He supervised work on remedial projects, reviewing and commenting on technical documents developed related to the investigation and remediation of state and federal Superfund sites and participated in clean-up negotiations with three Responsible Parties. David was also part of the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Response Team and responded to and oversaw the cleanup of fuel and other spills in the community.
